Default 8703e / Verizon / CradelPoint = high speed for my laptop? - 02-12-2008, 04:17 PM

Hi - this product was in Popular Science this month (CradlePoint). It claims compatibility with the 8703e ... CradlePoint Technology

I'm wondering if this would allow me (Verizon unlimited data plan) to setup a WiFi hotspot or otherwise get my laptop on my BB internet without the $15/month Verizon tether charge.

Any thoughts?

Lightbulb Cradlepoint - 02-12-2008, 05:49 PM

I looked at the Cradlepoint website. The only product there is their Personal Hotspot. This only connects via a USB cable. It is clearly designed for the application you have in mind. If Verizon charges for the use of the thether, then you are stuck. But, if you are willing to pay, you can have a portable hotspot. 73
