Default Activiating Email Service on BB 8700C. - 02-16-2008, 02:15 PM

Hey everyone,

I just upgraded to a BB Personal plan, So the browsers, and Email Activation Icons now appear on my Home Screen.

However, when I attempt to activate the Email service, I enter the PIN and IMEI found under Options>Status but I get an error "An account already exists for this PIN. Please try again."

I purchased this BB from Ebay, so I'm assuming it's used, or a refurb. How do I delete the other account from this PIN? Is there anything I can do, or do I need to call AT&T?

Thanks for the help!

Wirelessly posted (8800: Mozilla/4.0 (compatible; MSIE 6.0; Windows NT 5.0) BlackBerry8310/4.2.2 Profile/MIDP-2.0 Configuration/CLDC-1.1 VendorID/102)

Read the FAQ about buying off ebay, bottom of this main page. You need to have the previos owner release the PIN from their account. You can ask the carrier to do so yourselfn but they don't have to, so ask nicely!

I've already read about purchasing off Ebay, thanks for the link though.

So the only thing I can do is call AT&T and request for the PIN to be released from the previous account?

contact the seller first, AT&T may or may not reset it for you. If you have it active on your account (the IMEI being registered to your account) they may not let you have access to it.

I'm unable to contact the Seller, The phone was purchased through my Moms boyfriends Ebay Account, and I have no means of contacting him anymore.

Thanks for the suggestions though, I'll try my luck with AT&T.
