Question Creating an HTML page to use as bookmark - 02-21-2008, 06:38 PM

I hate the default Bookmarks page that the 8700g uses. What I've been doing is that I created an HTML page (which has nothing but links to my favorite site) which I uploaded to our company's website. I then linked to this HTML and used it as my Bookmarks/Default webpage. Unfortunately, my company took this page down.

Is there any way to copy this HTML page to my 8700g so I can use it as my Bookmarks page? Or do I need to find a free webhosting company, get an account, and upload my HTML page to this site?

I don't think you can copy the page onto the BB, but someone else might have an idea how...you should be able to host the html page on a free site. Who is your isp? Most that I have used have given some free amounts of personal webspace. I use Charter and know they offer free space with their accounts, same with Comcast.

Perhaps there is a way to move/copy and html file onto the blackberry from a PC, or put it on the media card, but I see no way to point the blackberry browser to a file on the blackberry.

Possible workaround... send yourself an email with all the links and put the email in your saved folder. It's not the same has having the page in the browser, but should work.

Hmmmm... Yeah, I'm gonna give all of those a try. We'll see. I wish they'd update the OS to give us more flexibility with this because that default Bookmarks page is useless.

How do you use a media card with the 8700g?

Media card and 8700: you don't.
