Default Trouble Syncing 8703e to Notes - 03-28-2008, 07:43 PM

First of all, I was having no issues this morning until I had the grand idea to download a GPS tool for my BB. I tried to use Verizon's VZNavigator, but it's not available for the 8703e. I downloaded/purchased a new app from Handango and proceeded to install it per included directions.

Here's where I got stupid...when installing via the Application Loader, I noticed another (unrelated) application I didn't need...I checked it for deletion. On the next screen, I was prompted to do a backup and restore and thought it was a great idea...20 min later, my bb was back, but had looked as though it had been reset to factory conditions, albeit with all applications (save the one I was going to install) intact. Calendar was fine. Addresses were fine. I thought all was fine. When I looked at the inbox however, all prior emails were gone. I tried to reconcile and nothing (wirelessly). I tried syncing and nothing. I even tried the help desk and nothing. I'm getting new emails, but all the old ones in my inbox don't appear. Worse, when I try to View Folders, the folders are there, but they are empty.

All is fine in Notes on the desktop.

Any advice?

You have committed an irreversible act. Unless you had done a complete backup prior to the entire business you described, you are out of luck. On the other hand, since everything is working, all you have really lost is the e-mail. I have the same phone and carrier and I can tell you with absolute certainty that Verizon does not support any GPS applications on the 8703e. On the other hand, If you get Google Maps, Ver 2.0.1 (not higher), it has a pretty good locating function. it will put you within a half miler of you position, sometimes a lot closer. It depends on you location relative to the cell towers.

Thank you! At least now I know. Is there a GPS puck available to connect via bluetooth? I'm all about making the GPS thing work through my blackberry if at all possible.
