Default Forgot my Password on 8700c!!! Am I out of luck? - 04-21-2008, 11:24 AM

Hey folks.. Have a question.. I found an old 8700c that I had in my home office. Powered it up and it has a password. I have tried the two I have used for a long time but those aren't it. Is there a way to reload the OS and bypass the password or is it a paper weight? Let me know. Thanks!

There is no way to bypass the password.....not at all.

Put in the password wrong 10 times (it will wipe the device) and you can set a new one.

keep typing in an incorrect password and it'll eventually wipe itself ... and then you've got a usable device.

Odd.... I would think that someone who is soliciting questions about products and services for a major US cellular carrier that support BB's would know that.... IMO

He is a potpourri:

He works for Sprint
He uses T-Mo and Sprint
He has AT&T's 3G for his Avatar

and now he knows how to reset his password!

Perhaps the OP should return the BB where he took it.

That's like criticizing a car salesman because he doesn't know how to do a coolant flush. I sell the product. But thanks for chiming in!

I was thinking that, too But use a different drawer. In a different room.
