Default Erasing 8703e Memory - 04-28-2008, 08:09 AM

Hi,

I recently cracked the screen on my 8703 and have to send it back to the insurance company when they send me a replacement.

My question is, is there a way for me to erase everything off the phone (email/contacts/appointments/etc...) before I send it back? The phone is still functional and I can access it via a USB/Bluetooth connection on my computer so accessing the phone is not an issue.

Any recommendations for a way to erase everything would be great.

Thanks!

I assume you can see the screen?

1. Go to Options

2. Select Security Options

3. Select General Settings

4. Hit menu (click the trackwheel) key and select Wipe Handheld, and follow the prompts.

Unfortunately I can not see the screen. For whatever reason, the way the screen cracked makes it unreadable.

If you have the desktop manager software installed you should be able to erase the info stored on the blackberry. In the Desktop Manager double click on "Backup and Restore" Click on Advanced, on the right side it say's device options. Select all and then hit the clear button.

just plug it in to the comp, and when it asks u for the password through the device manager just type it wrong 10 times.

I'll take the full odds on the 10, 200 on the hard way, the limit on all the numbers and 250 on the 11, thank you very much.

Thanks for the info...

These suggestions seemed to work so hopefully the phone is free of data!
