Default 8700g synch question and more - 05-07-2008, 07:26 AM

Hi fellas, I bought T-mobile BlackBerry 8700g and It’s delivering as we speak. Before I ask few questions, I have a full time student and me work for community college. I switch my T-mobile sidekick LX to 8700g. I have a lot of homework and a lot of work. It requires a lot of calendars, events, notes, and emails. Both devices are good, but I prefer 8700g since it has bigger keyboard that I could use when I plug 8700g in. I hope it works, anyway, but here is my question:

Will it work when I use Gmail calendars transfer to 8700g calendars without Microsoft Outlook? I don’t feel comfortable if I synch my Gmail calendars into Microsoft Outlook on community college computer then synch again to my 8700g. I don’t know if it will delete the outlook on community college computers when I synch to 8700g. Maybe I might be wrong for how it works. Maybe you can give me few instructions.

How quicky is 8700g email and text responds forth and back? Esp. Different companies ex: T-mobile, Sprints, etc.

Thanks for your time

I can't see any reason why you shouldn't be able to use Gmail Calendar without MS Outlook. If you to go mobile.google.com from your device you should be able to setup the Calendar from there.
If you do want to import your Google Calendar items into MS Outlook, the BlackBerry will not remove any data from that computer.
I don't know about transfer speeds for the different carriers. I use Sprint and a BES and can usually get my emails within 3 minutes of being sent.
