Default network problem - 05-07-2008, 06:22 PM

Hi, im using the 8700g blackberry in Hong Kong. When i switched on the phone, the network only works for around 2 minute. after 2 min the "gprs" icon disappears.
when i put my SIM card on to my sony ericsson, it works perfectly fine.

can anybody tell me what is wrong.

Wirelessly posted (8700g)

I'm not sure I understand, but does the mobile service provider support blackberrys? And do you have the blackberry data plan?

I guess you have probably tried a hard reset (remove battery for 30+ seconds).

Have you tested in another location (so that you are on another tower)?

Are you running 4.2, or still running 4.1? Upgrading wouldn't hurt if you haven't done it already.

And call customer service if all else fails.

Maybe others have some ideas.

And out of curiosity, if you turn the radio off and back on again, will you get GPRS again?
