Unlocked means the device can be used on another carriers network (but only a similar network - like GSM to GSM).

So, if I liked a device that AT&T came out with, but I have a T-Mobile account (or T-Mobile has better service in my area), I can buy an AT&T device, have it unlocked, and use it on T-Mobile's network.

Nope. Verizon won't allow it.

Yet.

Wirelessly posted (8700g 2007-04-07)

I bought a couple of cingular phones off of ebay. One had a bad lcd the other a bad track wheel. After getting one working by using places from both i had at&t unlock it for me(i am on T-Mobile) i got the internet turnned on everything works great. One small problem, i when i go to add third party addons it tells me that the it pilocy does not allow it. After the total wipe i thought that would take care of it. Any ideas on how to get around the it policy? I don't know the previous owner or where they came from as they were sold as is.everyting else seems to work but i would like to beyond 411 and bb today on it plus others help?

My wife says I love my Blackberry more than her.

2004-12 ** 7320 on T-Mobile
2005-11 ** 7100t on T-Mobile
