Go to the RIM website and download and install DM 4.2 SP2. That seems to be more stable and friendly than DM 4.3

Are you using a company supplied PC? If so, they might have done a few things to keep "unauthorized" apps off.

Just a thought......

I did a Google on Windows XP Error 1720. Here are 2 of the results - lots more where those came from. Remember - Google is your friend!

And from the Knowledge Base: CTX764017 - Error 1720: There is a problem with this Windows Installer package - Citrix Knowledge Center

Download, and install the newest installer from Microsoft, and see if it works.

Windows Installer 3.1 v2 (3.1.4000.2435) is available

Hi thank you for your time to reply me back. I am using my personal computer and I updated the window xp recently and window installer. It doesn't work. You mentioned about RIM website. I tried to google it and not sure which exactly. Again thank you.

Check out the articles in this search results. There are several related to the 1720 error. I'd go thought each article that applies to your problem and do each step.

BlackBerry Search Results

Also does your anti-virus program or other security programs have script blocking? You might need to turn it off briefly to install the software.
