Default When new firmware OS? - 05-26-2008, 03:32 AM

Hi all, when a new release of the BB8700g firmware will come out? Current version 4.2.1.114 has been out for ages!.....

NJBlackBerry, I am referring to the BB8700g internal firmware application updates/upgrades, NOT to the desktop application (currently 4.3). I think you made a confusion between OS and firmware?

Actually I think its you who is confused. NJ was not referring to the BlackBerry Desktop Manager. He was referring to the handheld OS. There is no firmware on the BlackBerry devices that is user updatable. His answer still stands as correct.

No confusion here. There is supposed to be a new version of the handheld OS for the 8700 - version 4.5 - which is being beta tested now.

I have already tried the new os the 4.5.0.37 (beta release) for the 8700. But i dont recommend its install, it is still very unstable and slows your berry down alot.
Let us wait for the final release.
