Default How to extract one particular language from the OS installation? - 05-27-2008, 11:29 AM

Has anyone here succeeded in extracting a particular input method from one OS distribution and installing it into another?

I have a bit awkward need to use together Chinese and Russian input methods under an English OS. It works perfectly separately when I install either Chinese firmware or Multilingual one (which has Russian, but no Chinese).

Maybe someone has an idea how to make them work together?

Thanx a lot in advance to everyone who can help.

hi
i installed a few weeks ago a new os (english only) ond a BB 7290 and kept the german language files from the old version by installing both os versions on my PC and copying all files with _de in the filename from the old to the new OS version and then installing it on the BB using desktop manager (it prompted english and german language version in the apploader dialog).

since there was not a huge version jump, the system talks perfectly german.. no odd behavior so far

maybe u can try something similar?

cheers

tate

Goddamit!!!

Yes, it worked!!! Simple copy-pasting of *_ru.cod files did the job!

I was sooo stupid not to think of this myself.

Thank you very very much indeed!
