Exclamation unlocked 8700c, need to delete previous email - 06-23-2008, 12:12 AM

I just bought a used unlocked 8700c and when I try to set up a new blackberry email account it wont let me because the people that I bought it from never cleared off the email address that was on it. PLEASE will someone tell me how to get rid of the previous email and set up a new one.

Options >Security Options >General Settings. Hit menu key and select "Wipe Handheld."

However, the previous owner more than likely didn't cancel the account to release the PIN. Only your carrier or the previous owner can do it. It can be a tough thing to do sometimes. if all else fails, contact HorizonWirelessOnline.com - Horizon Wireless, Canada’s Cellular Repair Center ß and they can get the pin released for you (not free.)

Best thing to do is call the previous owner and have them cancel their BIS account. That should release the PIN and IMEi so you can use it. If the seller fails to do so, you can try the carrier and see if they will do it. You may have to provide proof of ownership however.
