Default Mute button broken - is there a fix? - 07-08-2008, 08:48 PM

About 9 months ago, my mute button (on the top of the 8700 case) quit muting. After upgrading to 4.5 yesterday I took the case apart and cleaned it up as much as I could. Button still clicks, but the mute button is still not muting. Has anyone else had this problem before or am I ready for a replacement?

thanks in advance!

J

I have had buttons fail in the same manner on previous devices, and the outcome was typically a broken connection. If the button still functions (clicking), and the OS has been updated, guaranteeing no programmatic issues, you are left with a few options... 1.) Replace the device 2.) Take/Mail it to a pro to have it repaired 3.) Try your hand at fixing it

I would recommend option #1.
