Smile email change with provider change - 07-09-2008, 12:40 PM

Hello everyone, hope someone can answer this...I have an unlocked 8700R on Rogers. I will be in the US for a month and plan on getting a TMobile sim card on a flexpay plan. Since email is related to your PIN will my existing emails automatically follow me or do I have to log into the carrier BIS site and make changes?

Thanks in advance

You would have to get a BlackBerry flexpay plan with T-Mobile and make sure to have Rogers dump your PIN or it won't work when you get here. You can't have the same PIN on two accounts.

And Welcome

And the flexpay would have to have the BlackBerry data plan on it as well.

You will also need to setup the email accounts through T-Mobiles BIS.

Can you drop your BlackBerry data plan while you are gone? That should do it.

make sure they release your PIN number. just stopping the plan wont necessarily release the PIN.

Well decided to call Rogers and spoke with tech support. Just have to delete my email service books and they will put zero's in my account info. Setup on the TMobile BIS site and send service books. On return call TMobile have them release the PIN, call Rogers give them my PIN and IMEI numbers, they reenter into system. Just log into Rogers BIS and resend service books and email will follow me.
