Default Sound Profiles Messed Up - 07-14-2008, 08:07 AM

When I go into setup my different ringtones in the sound profiles it wont let me set up anything except for the phone ring. I tried all the options on different setups (Loud, Normal, Phone Only, etc) but I can only change the ringtone.

I think I may have deleted something I shouldn't have because yesterday I was going through to and removing ringtones and pics. I must have put something in the remove modules folder that I shouldn't have.

These are the files in the folder:

KnJCDE.cod
net_rim_bb_phone_ptt_app.cod

net_rim_bb_medialoader_320x240.cod
net_rim_bb_profiles_tunes_tunebundles_tunes8700g.c od

and the others are all themes (I delete all the themes except the Zen theme.)

Will reinstalling the OS on my PC help this problem?

That one you should leave in the OS load. It is just what it says... the tunebundle, i.e., ringtones.

You can try replacing it, and running app loader again. It will go through the motions and you will likely think it has done nothing. But that cod should load. Check your device and see.

If not, back to a full OS reload.

If it were me, I would put the bottom 2 files back into the Java folder and then just rerun the Application Loader. The modules will be put back on your device - the entire OS won't get reloaded (much easier process).

But I don't like wallpaper. I only use paint.

But isn't that the file that deletes ringtones? I don't need all those extra ringtones, but I guess I'll put it back.

Is there anyway to delete the ringtones from the device without messing it up?

Trust me, it is more than just the ringtones.

You can't delete the pre-installed ringtones, otherwise. They take up very very little space in your device memory.

Ah, okay, well I tried to do what you said and put that file back in the folder but it still said I had no updates so I'll just reinstall the OS and then delete the themes/wallpaper.

Check your device... although it said no updates, it might have added it.

eh, already got the new OS installed, lol.
That file originally wasn't even in my blackberry folder, I DLed it from another persons thread who wanted the 8700 ringtones on their phone and put it in the remove modules folder.

All is good now, though, I got the OS reinstalled and the wallpapers/themes deleted.

Thanks though. =D
