Default IT Policy - 07-18-2008, 09:59 AM

Hey guys --

This might be a dumb question but I just wanted to ask it anyway. I have a user over here that uses his personal blackberry to sync his calendar and contacts with his phone. He specifically doesn't want to be on the bes server. For some reason yesterday his phone automatically activated when he plugged it into his computer via USB. Now he can only make emergency calls on his personal phone, which sounds like our IT policy was thrown on his phone. So my question is, is there a way to remove this policy without wiping the handheld. He is at a remote location away from me so I'll be troubleshooting with him over the phone.

Any help would be greatly appreciated. Thanks guys.

Wirelessly posted (BlackBerry 9000 4.6.0.67)

You can push a blank policy to him via the BES but that is the only option without a reset to factory.

Ok Im in the process of readding him to the BES server then I'm going to send out the IT Policy with No restrictions. Once he's up and running on the BES, how long does it take from the time I click to send the IT policy to get to his phone and re-enable the voice. Also are there any special measures that need to be taken, like a restart etc, or it will do it on it's own?

Thanks a lot.

The new policy takes just a couple minutes, assuming his device is on and has adequate coverage. Once the policy is there, he will be able to use the phone immediately.

No special restarts or anything needed. Piece of cake.
