Default Confirmed Rogers Reports - New BlackBerrry - 09-02-2005, 10:24 AM

A little birdy that works @ the Rogers Head office in Toronto, mentioned to me the other day, how a mystery box from RIM arrived earlier this week. The mystery box is said to contain a new blackberry.

More to Come.

Apparently its supposed to hit the shelves by the end of september. Shipping to stores is supposed to start mid way though september.

I'm thinking it's just the updated form factor on the 7100.

Sounds right. Wishing its the Electron is mere speculation.

A short while ago it was $99 to compete with Bell's offering the 7250 for free...don't read into the pricing too much.

Rogers only offers their best price with a three year term. Are you saying they will have it at an even better price with a three year contract?

I saw a demo of the 8700 last week. It will be released by cingular begining of october and Rogers should have it at the end of october. Its a pretty sweet looking device combining the 7290 and the 7100.

Default Rogers Releases 7100g - 10-04-2005, 11:52 PM

The 7100g is now on their website but is still not avaialble for purchase. I hope this does not mean a delay for the 8700 as I want the full size keyboard and speaker phone. Are we still looking at November?

I talked to our rogers sales person today and they confirmed that the 8700 device from Rogers will be available mid to late November.

one thing about Rogers: don't believe it until it happens. This is very familar to the OS 4.0 debate, and the 7290 release dates when these things were at the stages the Electron is in now..

one thing is for certain though: Rogers has never been first.. so give it some time..

But I want one now.... this 7100r is starting to make it difficult to write long emails and I can't go back to the 7290 screen

8700 will be the best BB rim has ever come up with... i've seen it... it's a little smaller than 7290. the screen on it is amazing!!! it's got awesome speed! definitely worth the wait to get it...

You would think that when a company, for all intents and purposes, only makes 1 line of handhelds (the blackberry in general) that the newest one would be the best. It would kinda be digging your own grave to start releasing products that were worse off and have less features than existing products.

Should be interesting... I will be getting one in the near future.

cd.
