Welcome aboard. You'll like this site. Just a few rules to watch out for.
As for your question, we don't really know for sure because the 8700 is just a figment of most of our imaginations. And those that say otherwise are often proven wrong. However, given Nextel's committment to push to talk, I'd expect that they'll conform the 8700 to do this - if and when they roll it out.

who knows when sprint and nextel will come out with a dual mode for cdma and iden. it would be nice.

I dont know if this is news...but cingular is planning on rolling out their own push to talk service in OCTOBER...isnt the rumor that this bb will be out then? and it does have that extra button...
