Cd, I think you are correct as I just received an offer in the mail from Rogers for a 7290 or 7100r for $99 and the offer ends November 15. Coincidence, I think not. Unfortunately I canot wait as my thumbwheel is not working properly on my 7280 so I've taken them up on their offer which probably means I would have to pay the full price(600+, just a guess) if I wanted the 8700. However I do recieve a free bluetooth headest so all is well.

The time frames sound better, but has anyone heard any "good" information on pricing. I have seen some WAGs in other threads but nothing that looked like solid info.

Thanks

Rogers tends to be a few weeks (or a few months) behind most other carriers... don't hold your breath..

I heard a rumour (and its more then likely that) that someone at either at Rogers or RIM forgot or didn't file at the CRTC, or there is a delay with the filing, that could possibly push the release date back towards Christmas. I hope this isn't the case.

Has anyone actually confirmed what the retail pricing is going to be?
Is it $499 without a contract?

Not to sure about the contract details as I wasn't really interested in asking about it at the time. I would imagine that there would be a contract for 2-3 years at the $499 price though.
