Default Cingular - First week of November? - 10-13-2005, 07:46 PM

My work is going to get me a BlackBerry through Cingular. I've never had one before and I'm pretty excited. I can either get a 7290 now (have it in about two weeks) or wait for the 8700c.

According to our IT department, Cingular is telling them the first week of November is when the 8700c is going to be released.

So, should I hold out and hope that this is good information or should I just bite the bullet and get the 7290? If I get the 7290, I have to wait for at least 18 months before I can upgrade.

Thanks

Personally, I would wait. You are only looking at 2 or 3 weeks.

So, can we assume then that the 8700 will be released in NOV or is this just for business users and it will be released later on to the public???

I am currently with Nextel and have been really thinking of switching to Cingular. NOT because of the new 8700, but because, when I did the math, I will be saving about $20.00 - $25.00/month for the same service. And have more than enough Minutes. I like the Roll-over and seeing as I work in construction, my minutes use varies and this helps me to avoid changing plans.

My BlackBerry PIN is 240A49EF

I agree that if you can wait, you should.
