Frankly, I still think it's hideous. I certainly hope some GSM provider gets the black version so I can buy it unlocked on eBay or something at some point next year. However, things aren't looking good for that -- if you've seen the Verizon version of the 7100, then you've seen that it looks just like the black 8700. Not a good sign for us GSM users hoping to get a black 8700.

I am ok with the color, of course Blue would be nicer, but maybe if no one likes it, the price will drop to $50 next week

If you don't like the color, put a skin on it, for about $30, you can order a custom graphic vinyl skin that you stick onto your berry. Nice thing about it is that you can peel the skin in case you have to get warranty exchange for the device.

you guys are so funny. What the HELL does it really matter what color it is? REALLY now, the reason we have the damn things is because of how much more proficient they make us in our lives and jobs. Don't get me wrong. I L_O_V_E my BB!!! It is the most amazing thing this side of the car as far as I am concerned which is why I wouldn't care if the thing were orange. I just can't wait to get mine in my grubby little hands. BTW, mine will be here this week. My Cingular rep placed me in some sort of seeding group that gets them early. I administer about 800 on a BES for my company. The funnest most rewarding job I have ever had. People daily tell me how much it helps them be effective in thier job which feels good to be contributing that way. I will post pics if no one else has by the time I get it.

800...wow. I administer and support 40...I can't imagine 800. Do you do it alone? I love that part of my job, but i can't imagine 800 devices, especially in rollouts and replacements...yikes. How do you do it?

I admin 3,000 and it doesn't take me more than a few hours of real work a week.

BB's are so easy the users can do their own rollouts and replacements. I mainly just ship them devices, activate them via Enterpise Activation and let them know when new versions are available. RIM's admin tools are really good if you take the time to get to know them and if you are organized rollouts are painless especially since the server and devices are all backward compatiable. We upgraded the BES one week, the next week 70% of the users updated there devices themselves and we did 10% of the 'problem users' - i.e. the ones capable of updating the devices themselves but too 'important' to do it, and then the other 20% eventually upgraded over the next month (mainly due to other users showing them features they were missing out on). There is still a few stragglers, but it doesn't hurt they are on older versions.

^^ I have been reading about BES in my Blackberry Hacks book (got it yesterday). I knew a BES was amazing but man it can do SOOOO much for you its rediculous all the features it has.

And as far as the 8700c, I could care less what color it is as long as it has high speed data, and a killer screen.

Bunker, I can't imagine that it doesn't take you too long to admin 3000 devices. Have you written killer instructions sets or have you built a lot of help internal web pages for your users. I would seriously like to know what you have done to make it easier. Also, tell me the breakdown of your devices. I have about 75% 7290's and 25% 7280's and have to replace 2-5 per week because of breakage or stupid software issues that we can't seem to recover from with a reload. I nuke them and all from my handheld manager and still have major probs. Please respond.
