Default How good is new screen? - 11-04-2005, 02:08 PM

For those yof you that have actually seen the screen: how does it compare to say, a Treo 650, or a Sony P900? From the few photos I have seen the screen on the 8700 looks disappointing, but hopefully that just the photos? That hideous Cingular theme doesn't help of course...

Yes, it is the photographs -- Ever seen photographs of the Treo 650 screen? The Treo 650 screen have often looked very terrible in photographs. Photographs of screens don't always come out very well, unless taken very professionally at the correct exposure, and without a flash.

Thanks,

Default I was stunned - 11-04-2005, 02:24 PM

And it comes with 4 themes. I thought the screen was outrageously good, at least for my needs as a business device.

The screen is very good, in my opinion and it is covered with a plastic protective cover. I asked the COO of RIM if it was prone to scratching like the 7100 and he assured me that it was not. He said that the 7105 has the new material and that they conducted extensive tests on the screen because of this complaint.

I hope so but Brasso works wonders on my 7100 screen when I get scratches.
