Default 8703e help needed for new blackberry user - 04-20-2009, 06:11 PM

I purchased a used 8703e on ebay and I am having issues with some IT security that was on there from the prior user. I worked with several Sprint techs to try and correct the problem but did not have any success. Here is a description of the issues:
1. Whenever I try to make a voice call, I get the message that only emergency calls can be made.
2. There seems to be some security lock as well -- I don't have access to turn off the password or adjust the lock out time (currently set at 2 minutes).
3. Firewall - set to enable --- no adjustment allowed.
4. SMS messages work properly - can send and receive

We have tried wiping the unit numerous times and it has not solved the issue.

Does anyone have any ideas on possible fixes for this? Is it possible to completely remove everything and then reload the operating system?

Fortunately, the ebay seller has refunded my money and told me to just toss the unit since they didn't want to sell it to anyone else with those problems.

Since I have my money back, I guess I will try anything since I won't be out anything.

Thanks
