I have given my wife my old 8707g device and she is happily using it with her payasyougo SIM. She isn't happy with the loud tone which sounds when she attempts to send a discreet text. I can't find an option to get rid of it.
Any ideas?

No, that is a function of your carrier, you need to speak with them. There is no option on the BB to remove that.
