Default Gmail App Crashes - But Can't Delete It - 05-01-2009, 03:00 PM

After a few minutes of using my Gmail, it will cause the BB to shut down... hard. The screen will go blank and the only thing to make it come back is a battery-removing reset.

But I can't remove Gmail, because if I go to the Application list (under the Options/Advanced section), I don't see it in the list.

How can I remove an application that's not in the list?

I used Gmail BB version for a while before this crashing thing, and it was fine. I hope I can clear it out, then reinstall.

Gmail for mobile (beta) ver 2.0.6.1269 Web
Blackberry 4.2

(I did lots of searching, but never found anything on this.)

Have you tried installing Desktop Manager and then connecting your BlackBerry to the computer, then running the App Loader program? That should show a list of the programs you have installed. You can see if it shows up in the list there.

I tried to install it, but the install always fails at some point.

What version of Desktop Manager are you attempting to install, and on what operating system?

Well, I have Windows XP Pro SP2.
And I haven't attempted anything on this particular computer yet. The previous attempt was made on the computer I had last month, before a nasty hard drive crash.

What version should I try to install?

I have an 8700

Try installing the latest version of Desktop Manager, which is 4.7.

Well, it might not be gmail. Recently, it has shut down twice on me: once in a call, and once using Opera Mini.
