Default Memory upgrade for my 8700 - 06-30-2009, 09:27 AM

Hi All,

I was wondering if it were posible to upgrade my 8700g's memory. It comes with the original 64mb, but it is rather small in size and I would really like to see if I could upgrade it's memory so I can install de OS with a media player and hear some music once and a while when on the bus or whatever.

Is that posible in any way? My guarantee is already long gone so no harm there.

Thanks in advance.

Best,
Andrés.-

No way that I am aware of to increase the onboard memory, but you can free some of the existing memory up a little:

1st Step in Troubleshooting: Do you have a BlackBerry Data Plan?
2nd Step in Troubleshooting: Pull the Battery.

As ndubb33 stated, it's not possible. Follow the link he posted to free up some memory. Just be careful of the amount of media you put on the device, as you're aware, there is very limited memory.

Default USB Stick as Additional Storage - 07-03-2009, 11:09 AM

Hi All.,

I am using a 8700G as well. I was wondering if there is there a possibility to use a external USB stick as additional storage.

> I am thinking of using the data cord cable to fix a usb stick on the other end of the mobile.
> Is there some software required for BB to recognize the stick.

Nope; there are no USB memory card drivers for the BlackBerry. That will not work.

Wirelessly posted (Its All About the U!)

To echo NJBlackberry, you are limited. You may want to look at the 88xx, 83xx models or something newer
