Default 8700 lock disable - 07-06-2009, 09:46 PM

My bb I received has to have the password everytime it is off or even lies still for a few minutes, The place where you have the option to enable or disable will not change to disable. There is a little red dot beside the word enabled. What can I do ?

Is there an IT Policy on the blackberry. If there is an IT Policy it may be disabled by your IT Personnel or Blackberry Administrator.

If it is set by your IT/BB Administrator for your company blackberry then I would advise against attempt to circumvent this, on another thread someone already pointed out that circumvention of IT security software (including blackberry passwords) may end you up in hot water and can lead to a dismissal.

Another vote to leave it alone if you are using a company provided BB on BES. Circumventing the IT Policy, especially a security policy such as a password and lock can lead to termination.

Talk to the BES Admin if it is really a big deal and see what he/she says.
