Default Simple Background Images - 11-27-2005, 10:43 AM

I found you can make the icons pop out with great contrast using really dark backgrounds. Look at this one on your 8700:

(kind of like a phantom Cingular Jack)

And this one:

(the BlackBerry logo on black background)

You are right! It creates a really cool background that makes the icons appear to float in 3D. I like it.

1) Browse to it directly using the BB browser and then save it.

or

2) Open the image on your PC browser, save it somewhere, email it to yourself, open (attachment) on BB, save it.

Then using the pictures application on the BB, select the image, click the wheel and select assign as background.

I've been using the Theme Builder and have resized all of my backgrounds to 320x240 and the file sizes are well below 60kb, but I am still getting the following errors when I export...

Warning: The following resources could not be included in the theme for reasons explained below:
Dialog Background
Phone Incoming Call Background

Warning: Dialog Background: Resource is bigger than 60 kb.
Warning: Phone Incoming Call Background: Resource is bigger than 60 kb.

Can any of you assist?

Here are some themese that I whipped up. I won't know if they work 100% until I get my 8700c tomorrow afternoon. In the meanwhile I've decided to take some screen captures.

Let me know your thoughts. I've stumbled upon some cool icon websites... but I'm lacking any good backgrounds. Anyone care to help?

Rather than having an image at all, I created several jpegs (solid black, dark red, dark blue, etc.) and use them for a background. Much more easy on the eyes in a dark room. I prefer the solid dark color backgrounds to make the icons stand out the best.

Love your Imac one, very nice. I am having problems with the backgrounds but what I have thought is that you can always add the background from the BB itself so why bother including it in the theme?
