Default Opening picture attachments on 8700? - 11-28-2005, 05:04 PM

does anyone know if you can open pictures sent as attachments in emails...

and if so, can you then save them to your pictures folder?

Yes and no -- It depends on your BlackBerryOS version (Options->About), model and carrier.

But for the 8700, the answer would be yes to the best of my knowledge (for both Rogers and Cingular) - but if this is not working for you, please fill in the above details.

8700 os 4.1 cingular= yes you can..just tried it

I can open them fine but if I have more then one sometimes I get the clock and have to try to retrieve it again for it to finaly dl and open.

I just recieved my 8700r and I can open picture attachments. I had the clock but very very briefly. It opened the pictures quite quickly.

thanks for responses... i have a new 8700... when i was sent an email with a picture, it didnt give me open attachment option..

do you have to do something special with that email... i opened it, moved cursor over attachment and clicked, but it did not give me open attachment option....

It seems to depend on which email system sends the picture. I sent photos from a phone to my gmail account - I could not open that attachment (gmail is forwarded). I used Outlook and attached the photo and sent. It came into the BB showing the paperclip and offered the option to open the attachment. I did and was then able to save the photo and subsequently use it as my background.

So try different methods of sending it and I'm sure one of them will work.
