Angry 8700c Need serious help PLEASE!!! - 09-09-2009, 02:56 PM

Ok, I just got a 8700c from ebay. I downloaded the user manual from Blackberry, and was just starting to figure out how to use this phone. I downloaded the new software version 4.5 and the Desktop Manager version 4.7 for AT&T. I tried to install the update, and said there was a fatal error. Now, prior to this, I tried to run the update without desktop manager, because I didn't know I needed it, and it wiped my phone out, now it's just a white screen with a 507 error, meaning it can't find the OS. So now I'm still trying to put the 4.5 on the phone through Desktop manager and getting a fatal error. How can I get my phone working again? This is very frustrating.

I think I finally got the software loaded, but now it's just an endless hourglass...

Give it time. The 8700 is a bit older and takes quie a while to restart after a software load. Like 30-45 minutes.

Wow, I didn't realize it would take that long. I took the battery out and put it back in, thinking that would help... did I screw it up more? The hourglass is still going, but I'll just leave it alone for now...
