Default Humidity Issue - Keyboard problems - 09-15-2009, 12:44 AM

One of our staff is using a 8707v at our brewery in Fiji. His first one would play up frequently with pressing keys resulting in the wrong letters appearing or repeating.

Thinking it was a faulty unit we replaced it and now getting the same issue which I'm now thinking is due to the humidity (read some other posts blaming humidity for same problem)

Does anyone have any recommendations on either reducing humidity exposure of these units or alternatively are there other blackberry models that are not as susceptable to this problem

Wirelessly posted (overwhelmingly stressed)

Get and otterbox case for his BB!

Or have him carry it in a sealed zip-loc bag

I would also recommend insurance which is good one time per year

I've read a post recently about a person that was able to fix a poorly functioning device by taking out the battery and leaving it in front of a space heater for some hours.
So yeah it seems like blackberry devices don't do that well in humid air.

Is the office space in a closed area? If so you could setup a dehumidifier if you felt so committed to saving digital devices.
