With the 8700, is it possible to make it ring and vibrate at the SAME TIME? with the older blackberries, i can't figure out how to make it ring and vibrate at the same time. it will vibrate first, then ring.

The 8700 does the same, vibrates and ten rings. Don't think you can shange the order.

This is the dumbest thing. I thought for sure they would have changed this on the new models. I just upgraded from the 7280, and other than this quirk, I am happy.

It says VIBRATE + RING, not VIBRATE THEN RING.

I agree. I wish it would Ring & Vibrate at the same time but I've learned to live with it. In some respects, it's nice cause I can grab the call before the ringer goes off. I think some Motorola and Sony Ericsson phones are the same way.

If you're using a Tone or Vibe + Ring, does anyone know how the Number of Beeps comes into play there?

They should at least allow you to configure the Vibe pattern so you can distinguish between phone, messages SMS, PINS...etc...at least that way I wouldn't have to think (while the Berry vibes) to try and figure out whether I have to flip open my HS850, or pull the device out of the holster to read a message...before the %*^$@*! call goes to VM. Sometimes I wonder about the engineers who design these things, or if they even use them at all...they seem to have little clue as to the practicality of the intended design and the impact it has on the user. They need to get with the program
