Default BB 8700G and 5.0 Messenger - 10-14-2009, 12:29 AM

My BB is the t-mobile 8700G with the 4.5.0.124 OS and would like to install the bb 5.0 messenger. Has anybody got to install it on 4.5.0.124.

Thanks

Doubt if it will run on the 8700 series. Really an "old" device as PDAs and cellphones go plus limited processing and memory..

Yes I have it working on mine now...and I say now as I did some updates to 4.5 with the Mac desktop manager and it totally screwed up my phone. Had the app 205 error for days till I finally fixed it and got it to upgrade everything. Works fine. Just need to add everyone's addresses again...

It "works" on my 8700g running 4.5.0.153. Unfortunately, it tends to lag or freeze up when I try to send/receive photos or voice notes. Also, there's not an "Options Menu" you can get to like there is on other Blackberry's like the Curve or Bold (at least I haven't figured out how). Again, it will run on the 8700, but I don't think RIM created Blackberry Messenger 5.0 with the 8700 in mind... unfortunately.

Does anyone else have similar issues with lag time and not being able to send/receive photos or voice notes?
