That means you have version 4.1.0.284 for your device. Check the sticky threads at the top of the 8700 forum for the latest version.

That's what I would do.

And start out with a full backup of your device before starting the upgrade.

You need to first download and install BlackBerry Desktop Manager on your PC.

You can find the latest one here:

Okay so i was able to successfully download the newest desktop manager

Now i am trying to download the latest OS version

this one:

package Version: 4.5.0.294
Consisting of:
Applications: 4.5.0.174
Software Platform: 2.7.0.105
File name: 8700M_PBr4.5.0_rel294_PL2.7.0.105_A4.5.0.174_AVEA. exe
File size: 78.92MB
Note: The Software Platform and Applications version numbers can be found under Options-About screen on the handheld.

I downloaded it.. so once i try installing it.. after about one minute it tells me ERROR - invalid F drive...

How do i fix that??

i dont have any previous versions downloaded on my PC... i only have the desktop manager.

Grrr frustratinnng!

Help!!
