Default 8700v question - 10-24-2009, 09:44 AM

I was recently given an 8700v by a friend (phone was previously on the Vodafone network) and have unlocked it and done a hard reset. Yesterday I enabled it on a PAYG plan, on the Rogers network in Canada and plan to also use this phone at Christmas time (when back in the UK) with a different SIM card.

Having read the FAQ, I am still unable to get rid of the 'data connection refused' message, as I do not appear to have any option to disable data (as suggested in the FAQ) Do I need to upgrade the O/S in order to be able to have access to this option? - the phone is currently running: v4.1.0.258.

Many Thanks

David

Having upgraded the O/S to u4.5.0.174, I now have an option to disable data. It's like I have a brand new Blackberry actually I will be putting it on a data plan soon.

This is my first Blackberry I will add and I am very pleased with it.

Cheers

David
