Default 8700c Vertical Fortte case owners, lend me your ears! - 02-21-2006, 03:34 PM

I recently got one of the vertical fortte cases, great product so far, but I've found that after a week of "breaking it in" and getting it used to the BB and whatnot, the little metal button that the strap closes into is getting depressed into the case.

I've attached some crude camphone pics that probably don't do it justice, but its the best I can do for now.

Hopefully you'll see what I'm saying, not a big issue to me, just wondering if anyone else has encountered this or is it something I should contact Fortte about?

I've never noticed but now that I checked mine is the same. It seems that that button is not on the leather but rather the leather is cut out around it.The button is attached to the inner lining. Bottom line is it works well.

I never like to see people with defective things and I'm in no way saying your case is defective but I know I was one of the very first people to get this case. I've also been using it exclusively since I got it and my case DOES NOT have this issue at all.

I wonder if they changed something in the tooling or design..............

I can move the button in flush with the leather or push it back out from the inside. When the BB is in the case the button is pushed out. Igreenberg are you saying that yours does not move in and out.

If I press on the button VERY hard it does move slightly in.

I can't get it to become flush with the leather.

I have been using this case for about a month now and have not experienced this problem. Overall, I am very satisfied with the Fortte case, and look forward to the new low-profile clip design which was rumored to be released in the next month or two.

appears to be a random thing, im able to push it back out from the inside, however when I put the BB back into the case, it doesn't pop back out, it stays flush. I've found a few times where I have to make sure the clasp magnetically sticks as I've found on occasion that it hasn't.

Default Will the Fortte pouch fit extended battery - 03-02-2006, 11:10 AM

I currently have the Vaja case but I know it won't accommodate the extended battery when I get it. So I am on a quest for another pouch. I have the Gizmo case, which I like but it doesn't stay on my belt. I have also pre-ordered the RIM case, but like the rest of you, three cases just isn't enough.

Will the Fortte stretch enough to fit the extended battery?

Thanks,

Sam

Wirelessly posted (8700c: BlackBerry8700/4.1.0 Profile/MIDP-2.0 Configuration/CLDC-1.1 VendorID/102)

Might be room for the extended battery but I don't have one so I can't say for sure. There is some room. On the clips a ratcheting one is in production and a low profile one is in design.

I too have the issue - in fact I post about it about a month or so ago. No one else ever said they had it, lgreenberg specifically said he did not, in any event - it has not gottne any worse and all seems ok.

Mine does the same thing but this does not affect the closure at all on mine, the magnet pulls the ring back out when the strap is closed. The movement is no more than 1 or 2 mm.
