Looks like you're covering the phone pickup/hangup buttons and front convenience key?

Does the skin slide around if you put it into a holster?

The current holster we have for 8700C is for naked 8700C. we will release a holster just for skinned 8700C. It will be also availabe in Combo (skin and holster)

umm, maybe I'm missing something. Maybe somebody can explain this to me but I'm confused as to the benefits of such a case. It doesn't seem like it would offer any kind of protection if the device was dropped, it offers no screen protection, and IMO it's certainly not attractive. The only benefit as far as I can see is protection against scratches to the case itself. Would I be correct? Btw, I'm honestly not trying to be disrespectful to David, just trying to see if I'm missing something =\

i think that it's made so you can hold it in your hand, as the BB's are a little slick.

A lot of people like the idea of a silicone case for these reasons:

1) Very slim, which is good for people who slip them into coat pockets or purses
2) Is it very protective of the actual BB, keeps it from getting scratched, from getting worn out and helps keep the dust out of the cracks.
3) It adds a bit of grip so it is easier to hold on to.

I personally like silicone cases. I wish there was a way they could be made with a texture that keeps lint away (all silicone cases deal with lint sticking to them) but other than that - I really like these cases. Will order one soon.

Would just love to see one in a different color.

Oh, and one little thing Dave If you look at the front shot closely, you will see the case is not lining up with the phone/convenience keys. You may want to adjust it and put a new picture up, that way it does not look like it is is misaligned in the cut.

From the picture I think that this case is intended to cover those keys but you can use them through the polymer. It would probably be too thin a strip and therefore a weak point if they did a cut out.

My initial impression of the case: I'm all in favour of virus protection for Blackberries but that condom has too many holes! Actually I think that it might be an interesting option for the 8700 and look forward to the review.

I am getting one as soon as the skin+holster combo becomes available. I think the skin case is going to help prevent dust off -- under the screen (wish I had this when my 8700 was still brand new)

I'd also like to see one with a holster. A guy at work has one of these for his phone (SMT5600) and it works really well.

Much better picture David ;) Now it looks like it is aligned

Any chance of getting another color produced? I think a pretty looking metallic blue would satisfy the desire of use 8700c'ers to want that really nice looking blue housing that comes with the "g"

If you buy the skin now will it work in the holster that you will be coming out with later?

Couple of reasons/ all subjective btw..

1. I think the color should be a dark see-through grey so it doesn’t show dirt as much

2. It doesn’t come with a clip.. I know your going to be making a special holster for it but that’s probably going to be an other 25-30$ and it will add even more bulk to the device.

If you look at Speck products ( http://www.speckproducts.com/index.html ) they sell skins that already have clips built in. I have one of these for my Ipod Nano and it's called toughskin (I think). To achieve this all you would have to do is cut a hole in the back and somehow incorporate your slim profile clip that ships with the "swivel clip holster".

Just my thoughts, much more constructive than "no sir, I don't like it"

David,

I think it looks like very promising! I'm very much looking forward to Larry's review on Friday. If Larry gives it a thumbs up, I'll be putting my order in. One can never have enough protection for the Berry

Thanks for putting this out on the market!

In my experience it's the darker color skin cases which actually show dirt/lint more. I had a brown one from Boxwave for my Treo 650 and it was terrible that way.

Greenberg, is this type of case prone to collecting dust and lint in the area between the "skin" and the BB?

i had one of these skins for my treo650. my beef with them is that they are not engineered correctly to fit the device and i did not like the main buttons being covererd. If anyone form Seido is reading this please improve your products.
Just my two cents.

Thanks,

Will these work on the 8700g also? I have heard that there are slight differences in the dimensions of the phones. I love the protective skin over the BB, as I drop it from time to time. If it had a screen protector w/ a holster it would fill all 3 of my protection needs.
