Default Problems with 8700 - 04-21-2006, 10:12 PM

Hello,

I seem to be having problems with sending files over bluetooth. I have paired the phone with my Powerbook but whenever I try and send a file it won't let me.

I go to send file, click the file to send, then it says validating and then says that the device does not have the necessary services.

What do you think is wrong?

Thanks,

Soran

Powerbook...

There is no way to sync a BlackBerry to a Mac via Bluetooth.

May I suggest you look over in the Mac Users Forum for more information.

This normally isn't posible with a BB. What type of files are you trying to download? What program are you using to transfer the file?

Hope this helps.

Doesn't matter - you can not do anything with the Bluetooth between a BB and a Mac.

Well I can synch my address book, calenders, notes etc etc.

The problem comes when I try to send a file of any kind over. I use the bluetooth program built into the OS.

That's because you can't transfer files to a Blackberry via Bluetooth.

And you can't download files over the USB cable either, without third party Apps.

How to I receive email or alerts on this forum on my bb when people respond and answer my posts? Thanks.

No. The BB can not send files over BT.

No. The BB can not receive files over BT.

Bluetooth on a BlackBerry is limited to wireless audio headsets, some BT keyboards, BT printing (with third party software) and syncing PIM data.

How is that? The only application you can use for syncing with a Mac is PocketMac. PocketMac does not support connections over Bluetooth.
