I asked them about a new 8700c skin with sides like the new 8700g skin... reply below:

"Unfortunately the 8700g sides will not quite fit the 8700c. We will be adding sides to the 8700c Total Body Skin soon and will gladly send out a set when they are ready.

Thank you for your business. Please let us know if there is anything else we can do for you. We look forward to serving you in the future.

Regards,

Michael Herring

So us 8700c owners can soon have the sides covered as well.

Most skin or egrip I saw are 3 to 6 pieces, just wonder how they fit 9 on the 8700G, hopefully I will get it by Monday.

Want to buy me one so I can start reviewing "g" specific products?

Is this, or the egrips product, compatible with the OEM plastic holster (without being problematic)?

I just got my BestSkinsEver total body skin for my 8700g. Wow, it's got a lot of pieces. (9 in all) Make sure you give yourself a solid half hour to put all the pieces on.

Everything fits perfectly although getting the material to properly mold around some of the curves took a bit of coaxing. I like the pieces on the side. Gives the BlackBerry a cool "grippy" feel in your hand. Plus, it shines the thing up real nice! I had some tiny scratches on my battery cover from carrying the thing around in my pocket for a couple of weeks. They are invisible under the skin.

This next point has already been touched on several times in this forum, but I'll mention it anyways: Follow their directions and use some soapy water. I think it would be next to impossible to get these things on properly without being willing to sack it up lets a teeny bit of moisture near your precious BlackBerry.

Also, Michael from BestSkinsEver.com gets an A+ for customer service. Something that is very rare and totally unexpected when purchasing a $6 item.

Just installed mine. Now I have to say I am not a mechanical person and the fact that they had nine pieces intimidated the hell out of. In fact I had planned on just using the piece for the screen. With that said, I'm pretty darned impressed that I was able to do it. A lot of the edges stick up until it dries and you just keep massaging it until it fits. Way cool!

Here are some pictures of the full body skin on the 8700g. I did my best to get the skin to show up on camera. Ignore the lint. It's all ontop of the skin (well, almost all ontop of the skin, I got a tad under the skin on the side)

Damn! The 8700g is so much cooler looking than the 8700c. I'm jealous!

The skin looks nice, and I am sure it will protect against occassional scratches and the like in particular around the screen, but in the first place I think it really hampers the clarity of the 8700 screen. In effect retrograding to an older, less desirable effect making the advancements on the screen obsolete. In the second place it looks like it is so tight that taking that thing off to get to the battery or the sim card and putting it back on may need for me to get up early in the day and have at least two breakfasts to struggle with it.
