Smile SMS Problems with 8700c - 04-30-2006, 04:01 PM

Does anyone else have this problem. I've been around and around with Cingular, and they've been no help. I do not have any SMS options on my 8700c. There should be things like "Compose SMS" options, but there is not. I've reinstalled the software twice, done a hard reset, and everything else that Cingular has told me, but still, no ability to send SMS messages.
Any ideas?
Thanks

Are you on a BES? The administrator can disable SMS.

Try this: go to your phone book, scroll to someone's name who you know you should be able to SMS, then click the track wheel. There should be an option to "SMS John Smith". If there isn't, I don't have an answer for you.

Hope this helps.

Go to Options, Security Options, General Settings and see if you have an IT Policy named. If so, it could be disabled by the administrator.

Good catch, I was thinking about service book, but SMS is GSM.
