Default Question about multible BBs and same email - 05-01-2006, 10:17 AM

Hello everyone. Very near pulling the trigger on the 8700 for a small business. Demoed it and was blown away! My question is this: Can multible Blackberry users (ie my employees) all receive emails that were sent to the same address. I can't seem to find an answer to this searching the archives. Thanks for your time.

You could set up your mail server to forward copies of the e-mail to each of their BB e-mail addresses.

Thanks Radio Flyer. We don't use a server, just good old AOL. I guess my question is can mutible BBs receive an email sent via AOL without setting up a server? Hope this makes sense.

Yes, What radio flyer is talking about is setting your AOL account to forward to the 6, 8, or 10 blackberry's that you get. When you set up a blackberry, you can use BIS (personal email addresses). you would be given an email address similar to this (username)@mycingular.blackberry.net

If you set forwarding rules on your one AOL account, you can have it forward to all the blackberrys. Got it?

Oops....Corey beat me to the punch...

You could use the BIS client to have your AOL e-mail sent to the BB. Basically each employee would set up the AOL account in their BIS interface, and once done they would receive any e-mail that comes into that account on their BB. Another solution might be to set up the AOL account to forward the e-mails to each BB (I don't know if AOL allows forwarding like that. They didn't use to).
