Default Mail delivery is really slow - 05-01-2006, 09:12 PM

I just got the 8700c and love the looks but it seems to be taking upwards of 15mins to receive my emails from my yahoo account. I had a 7100g before this one and receive my emails in about 2-5mins.

Is this normal for this model? Is there anyway to set the Blackberry Internet Services Site to check for messages more often or is it set to a default time?

Thanks,
Brenden

You are polling from the BIS. Instead, you should have your emails forwarded to your BB address, that should yield 3-5 second deliveries.

Wirelessly posted (BlackBerry 8700g: Mozilla/4.0 (compatible; MSIE 6.0; Windows NT 5.0) BlackBerry8700/4.1.0 Profile/MIDP-2.0 Configuration/CLDC-1.1 VendorID/100)

If you are on BIS it makes NO difference what BB you are using because its the same BIS server for every BB on the planet. Has nothing to do with the phone.

Nice. I think it has something to do with my BIS (cingular). I can log in and see the message but it sits there and gets pushed up to 10 mins later. I can go into my bb, reconcile now...shows right up...but who wants to do that all the time?

I'm not getting pushed right away. I do have filters on the BIS, maybe it's that....

I have filters on my BIS account and mail seems to get through fine... I'm on TMO though.

What is your setup Justin?
I use gmail to forward and just went thru alot to get it to work well..instant e-mail>

What are you doing now? Are you waiting 10-15 minutes for each e-mail or did I read you wrong?

yes. even if I email my blackberry.net account it justs sits on the BIS for up to 10 mins. I have a gmail forwarded to my blackberry.net.....this is really annoying.

I've gone through all the settings on the BIS (new service books, like that did anything) pretty much every option there is. I would think it would be my outgoing mail server but it's on the BIS...just sitting there,....not being pushed for up to 10 mins or until I reconcile now.

it is my understanding that you cannot e-mail yourself with gmail.

Try e-mailing from another address.

I may be missing what you are saying and telling you stuff you already know but thought I would chime in.
