Default 8700g keypads - 05-02-2006, 09:06 AM

seems to stick up higher than the 8700c. looking at the pictures, does it in fact do that? because of the indentation of the plastic body in the keyboard area on the g berry.

I already gave my -c to a friend so I unfortunately can't take photos for comparison but I don't feel that they're different if that helps you at all.

I think the 8700 models are harder to type on. The buttons are closer.

I have noticed that with some very, very gentle nudging I can actually wiggle the entire keyboard within the bezel. I was less than impressed with this, but it doesn't seem to affect the functionality, so I'm living with it.

Both of the issues that you guys mentioned have been mentioned before but they are minor issues and I think you'll get used to it.

I upgraded from a 7290 to an 8700c and at first I found the 8700c keyboard to be harder to type with, but after a few days with it, I'm fine with it.
Yesterday, my boss and I did a long comparison between the c & g and he thought that the keyboard heights and space between letters were different, but then we sort of figured that because one case is darker than the other, it sort of plays tricks on the eyes, and that except for the obviously different shaped keys, they are essentially the same.
