Default 8700c showing 1 email icon on home screen - 05-20-2006, 02:00 PM

I have a 8700c cingular BB and even though I have read all my email messages there is an icon on my home screen showing one email unread. I have tried removing the battery and have also cleared the logs by alt+lglg command. How do i remove the 1 read email message from my home screen.
Thanks

Try removing the battery, waiting 30 seconds and putting it back in (i.e. a reboot). It usually solves the problem.

Might it be a SMS message?

This happened to me before.

I got an email.
Read it.
Saved it.
And then went to it again in the saved folder and marked it "Unread".

Then I go the "You've got mail" icon on my homescreen. I could not figure it out because there was not any email in my mailbox. It took me a while to remember that I had that "unread" email in my Saved Mailbox.

Wirelessly posted (BlackBerry8700/4.1.0 Profile/MIDP-2.0 Configuration/CLDC-1.1 VendorID/100)

It does sound like its a saved "unread" email. Also check to see if you have any SMS messages.

I just had the same problem. I'd call the voice mail and there would be no message. So I called from a landline and left a message to myself. I then called voice mail and deleted the message after I listened to it, and to my surprise the icon dissapeared.
