Default What is wrong with my BB - 05-24-2006, 12:09 AM

So it was working perfectly then all of sudden it wont communicate with the BES. Wouldn't send or receive emails. We shut it down, wiped it clean and started it all over. It worked fine for a while then wouldn't send or receive emails again. I turned it off and it was fine again. What could it be? T mobile says that it is the servers fault but noone else has the same issues in my company. Any help would be greatly appreciated.

Default Cingular BB no email - 05-24-2006, 12:17 AM

I've had my 8700 for a couple of weeks. It was working great. Then yesterday it stopped sending or receiving emails. Called Cingular yesterday, they said it was a known network problem..should be fixed in 24 hrs. Still not working. Anyone know whats going on with that or is it my phone?

Need more information. Are you getting error messages? Can you send email messages successfully? If not, what is the message status? Can you send and receive email from your mail client? Can you send PIN messages?

OS is 4.1
no error message came up. When I tried to send from my bb the little clock came up and stayed there. I was still able to send emails from my desk top just not my bb. The reception was strong, EDGE. Let me know if there is any other info that you need.

Try the following in order. If you fail somewhere along the way, say somethig before you wipe.
  1. Send someone a test PIN message if not restricted by IT policy.
  2. Check to see if Network Selection Mode is set to Automatic (Options > Network).
  3. Register handheld on the wireless network (Options > Advanced Options > Host Routing Table > Register Now).
  4. Regenerate encryption keys (Options > Security Options > General Settings > highlight Services, press scroll wheel and select Regenerate Encryption Keys).
  5. Delete Desktop [CMIME] service book, wait 60 seconds, undelete. (Options > Advanced Options > Service Book)
  6. Double check with T-Mobile that your account is configured properly for BES access.
  7. Get a new activation password and perform an inplace activation (Options > Advanced Options > Enterprise Activation).
  8. Backup, wipe, and reactivate handheld.

Do you mean you can't PIN due to an IT policy or that it doesn't work?

There are a couple threads about Tmobile having periodic outages. It could be a tmobile problem, not a phone problem.

Yes I had that problem yesterday morning. Sent a test email to my bb from my bb and never got it. But my email worked fine yesterday all day after that and so far today.
