Default Program to Edit Contact Book - 05-26-2006, 02:30 AM

Does anyone know if there is a program that will let you synch off your bb 8700, edit all contacts / fields then reupload back to your bb?

The regular desktop manager or whatever cd that comes with the blackberry isn't working too well for me... since I do -not- want to load everything into my ms outlook contact area and do -not- want to upload everything in my outlook contacts into my bb.

:/ thanks.

If you separate your contacts that you don't want to sync into another folder they won't sync. Outlook is your best bet for "editing the address book".

The best way to accomplish what you want is to create a Category such as BBSync in outlook and on your blackberry. To start, Create a tempory folder in outlook and move all your current items that you don't want on the BB. Now sync with your blackberry into the empty Contacts folder and edit as you desire, being sure that you add the new category. Then set up a filter in your Desktop Manager Sync options for the contacts to only sync items with that category (Contains BBSync). Now move all the contacts back into your Contacts forlder and Sync. Only those with the Category Set will be sync'ed. You can do the same for Tasks and Calendar entries also.

Hope this helps.

Thanks for your replies.

I eventually did breakdown and just synched it to my outlook. But I never used outlook express so I used that instead xD was a lot better than having it clutter up my regular outlook on my laptop =P
