here is the problem...i have a bluetooth headset...and when activitated i can make and receive calls...be when i try to use to 8700c handset to make or receive calls the call rings/connects but no one on the other end can hear me...

is there any way to resolve this...is there a way to do a hard reset on the phone? or even fully disconnect bluetooth? i tried deleting the bluetooth device and it still did not allow me to hear who i was calling or who called me.

the phone is a 8700c unlocked to tmobile...right now i am on a call (i used a different phone) with t-mobile and they cant seem to help...

in addition to any help here...do i call cingular (its a 8700c) or RIM for support?

you'd call Cingular; unless you're on a BES and your company is paying RIM for direct support (and if they do only certain ppl can call them)

For a hard reset, pop the battery out for 30 seconds.

Also, try to see if the speakerphone works.

Others have had this problem and the conclusion was a faulty unit.

Some headsets have a mute feature, have you checked if your's is muted? I've read another thread with this same problem, try searching that one out, maybe they came up with a better solution.

Did you try turing off bluetooth before you made the call from the hadnset?

I did this same thing at first and realized that my bluetooth headset, whoch was still turned on, was where all the sound was going/coming from.

Which BT headset is it? Anyway to test the headset with another phone?

Try another headset. If it acts the same or similiar then you can be pretty sure it's something with the phone.

Edit: Misread the problem. But, it could still be the phone.

While making a call, click the trackwheel. In the menu there will be an option to activate handset or something like that. That will transfer the call back to the handset and not the earpiece.
