Question Change ring profiles on a schedule? - 06-02-2006, 09:05 AM

Hello Folks -

I've been embarrassed too many times now to let this continue. I'm in a regularly scheduled meeting and my 'hamster dance' ringer goes off full bore ;) Ok, so I don't use the hamster dance as my ringer, but I am looking for a way to have my 8700c automatically go into vibrate mode on a schedule or check with my calendar database and turn on vibrate mode when I have a scheduled appt. Anyone know how I can make this happen?

TIA,
Stac

This has been discussed before. Maybe at a later date witha newer OS, but this is not an option with the standard OS at the moment. Best thing to do would be to set the profiles to VIBRATE upon the device entering the holster.

Cool Surprised and Not Surprised... - 06-02-2006, 01:59 PM

In a way I'm surprised - the plaform has been around for a long time now, and I'd have thought that more development would have been done for Blackberries... I came from a WM5 device and it's almost like going from a shark infested feeding frenzy to a very lonely world as far as application development is concerned.

Then, upon reflection, I realize that one of the driving factors for me to switch was stability. My WM5 device had so many tweaks and utilities loaded on it to make it run the way it was supposed to (or I wanted it to) that it rarely lasted two days without a reboot. Now I never think about whether I need to reboot my phone because I haven't heard it ring in 6 hours. I just know it's running.

Thanks,
Stacey

Go ahead and suggest it. In the meantime buy some thread and tie it to your finger. Works for me, except I don't need the thread.
