Default Read & Write Chinese on 8707V - 06-05-2006, 05:07 AM

Hi Guys,

I am planning to get a Vodafone 8700V in Netherlands, is it possible for me to read & write Chinese character's email on this version? How can I upgrade the blackberry to fulfill my needs? Any suggestion!

I think it is just too early to know the answer to this question. But I would assume that until a Hong Kong carrier comes out with a version of the 8707 3G software, there is the definite possibility that you will not be able to put Chinese on it.

Do you know when 8707v will launch in Hong Kong?

I noticed in your post that you put 8700v, which if that is the device you actually meant, then yes, you can use Chinese by installing the code for the Hong Kong CSL 8700g.

EDIT : Vodafone is partnered with SmarTone, so if they release the 8707v in addition to the 8700v, then you can get code from there.

The reason for the confusion is that the thread title says 8707 and the content of his post says 8700.

Hong Kong CSL firmware enables reading in Japanese but not entering messages in Japanese.
